Jacquie is an experienced litigator who practices complex commercial litigation on behalf of companies and individuals, in both state and federal courts and in arbitration. She litigates claims relating to breach of contract, business torts, UCC matters, restrictive covenants, and the False Claims Act. Jacquie has also handled matters concerning property, probate, and constitutional law. She advises clients regarding potential and pending litigation risks and demands, including settlement discussions. Her knowledge and experience allow her to think creatively and pragmatically about solutions to the unique issues presented in each case.
Prior to joining Chilivis Grubman, Jacquie was a litigation associate at a large law firm in Atlanta and a judicial law clerk to the Hon. Harvey E. Schlesinger in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida. During law school, she was editor-in-chief of the Florida State University Law Review.
Representative matters:
- Defending a seller and directors in a $150 million dispute against claims of breach of representations and warranties, fraudulent inducement, and civil conspiracy arising from an asset purchase agreement
- Advising a real estate investment trust regarding a pre-suit easement dispute that involved reviewing historical probate and deed records
- Defending a buyer in a $500,000.000 UCC dispute against claims of breach of contract, fraudulent and negligent misrepresentations, and promissory estoppel, leading to a favorable settlement for the client
- Representing a major Atlanta-metro hospital system in a declaratory judgment action under theory that certain restrictive covenants in a physician services agreement were unenforceable as a matter of Georgia law
- Defending a technology company in a software licensing dispute, resulting in settlement
